Editorial Has potential
Lia and the Gem Journey is a lengthy exploration-heavy RPG where discovery and talking to NPCs matters more than combat grinding—a design choice that rewards curiosity but frustrates players who expect traditional leveling. Community feedback is dominated by mechanical questions: where to find NPCs, how to trigger story events, and which items unlock hidden mechanics. The game appears content-complete and feature-rich, but its systems lack in-game guidance; players routinely get stuck despite the content existing, and several report platform-specific bugs (JoiPlay crashes, black screens in certain locations). For its niche audience—players who enjoy methodical exploration and don't mind consulting the community for hints—the creative work itself seems solid and ambitious. For everyone else, expect a steep learning curve and significant backtracking.
