Editorial Has potential
Shino's Insatiable Pursuit of Knowledge is an exploration-based puzzle-RPG with a distinctive word-crafting system that sets it apart from typical adult games—you combine keywords to unlock tools, locations, and story branches rather than grinding through combat. The H-content is substantial (130+ scenes, multiple endings) and the art direction lands well for its core appeal: a reserved scientist transformed by a mind-altering device into an uninhibited researcher. Story has genuine mystery and reversal twists, though the ending lands awkwardly for some. The build is rough around the edges: no autosave (forcing manual saves mid-session), occasional crashes and freezes, and poor navigation guidance—you must parse dialogue carefully or consult external guides to know what to do next. UI for browsing the word-crafting menu is unwieldy (excessive pagination). CG assets are reused liberally within scene types. Community feedback is divided: those who connect with the character and premise rate it highly (8.5–9/10), while others find the core loop tedious, the male characters uniformly unappealing, and the lack of voice acting a missed opportunity. A polished port and better onboarding would elevate it significantly; as it stands, it rewards patient, exploratory players but frustrates those seeking a smoother experience.
