Sex Vault is a tower-defense game with a sex-leveling mechanic: you outfit female characters with weapons, fight zombies for resources, and return to the bunker to gain experience through interactive sex scenes. The core loop is simple and engaging for its niche audience, and the character art is appealing. However, the game suffers from serious design flaws that undermine both the creative vision and technical execution. The leveling system is fundamentally broken—male characters gain three levels per session while female characters plateau or gain nothing, leaving them underleveled and fragile by endgame. Content is sparse (seven short animated scenes, minimal story, no voice acting), and later stages drag with repetitive, grindy combat that encourages tabbing out. The sex minigame itself becomes tedious when forced to repeat it dozens of times, and many players report it becomes impossible to level female characters past a certain point. A handful of reviewers enjoy it as guilty-pleasure idle fun, but the weight of complaints—from broken progression systems to occasional save bugs and missing UI guidance—is substantial enough that the game feels half-baked for its price and scope.
