Editorial Has potential
Rituals of Lust and Sin is sharply divided in community perception, and that divide reveals the core problem: the game's atmosphere, art direction, and sensual design are genuinely compelling to players who connect with its pagan-ritual aesthetic and cinematic presentation — but a significant portion of the user base cannot actually play it due to severe technical failures. Optimization is catastrophically broken across many systems (even high-end hardware reports single-digit frame rates); quest-marker systems lead players off the map; UI elements overlap and trap the cursor; character model clothing fails to adjust to certain body types; and bugs accumulate faster than fixes. Some players report the game running "great" on their hardware, but these are exceptions; the pattern across dozens of 1-star reviews is unambiguous: crashes, performance collapse, and broken tutorials block progression for the majority. On creative merit alone — atmosphere, animation, character customization depth, music, and a genuinely novel ritual-dance mechanic — this would be worth playing for its niche audience. But the current build is so unfinished that those strengths are buried under unplayability.
