Re:Rudy has genuine strengths — the renders and music draw consistent praise, and the female cast is frequently highlighted as a standout. Several players found the early story compelling and appreciate the developer's evident ambition. The problem is execution: a recurring theme in detailed reviews is that the MC comes across as inconsistent and frustrating (passive, constantly apologizing, yet occasionally dominant), the story loses credibility after the gang storyline kicks in, pacing is erratic, and relationship progression feels artificially rushed. Filo's extreme tsundere behaviour is a polarising sticking point — many find it well past charming and into genuinely off-putting territory. The choice system implies meaningful agency that doesn't fully materialise, and several players note that the "forced failure" structure — being blocked from romantic/sexual scenes until the narrative permits them — creates friction that outweighs the drama it generates. The build is currently mid-development and on hold while the developer works on a separate project (Industry Baby). Version 0.6.0 is playable but carries known logic/tracking bugs and clearly unfinished content. The developer is openly self-aware about the game's shortcomings and appears to be treating this as a work in progress rather than a finished product — which, for now, it isn't.
