Editorial Has potential
Re CATION: Melty Healing is a welcome English translation of a classic dating-sim series, and the translation work itself is solid—better than some fan patches, with readable flow and decent localization choices. However, the build has a critical recurring bug: the "Lovely Call" voice feature (where characters call you by a custom nickname you choose) is broken across the board, leaving those scenes silent. This also causes freezes in some playthroughs when fast-forwarding through affected scenes. The issue appears tied to how the translated script interacts with the voice-acting logic, and it significantly hampers a core mechanic. Players report the Japanese version works fine, confirming this is a translation-build problem, not a design flaw. For fans of the series eager to finally play this in English, the story and character routes are there—but expect a notably degraded experience during a feature that should be a highlight.
