Editorial Has potential
Project WAND: Land of Leng is a character-driven adult game with futa and lesbian content that players largely enjoy for its writing and cast interactions—but it arrives with significant friction built in. The core complaint, consistent across numerous reviews, centers on advertising mismatch: the game is promoted as a yuri/futa romance, yet begins with two unavoidable heterosexual scenes (a blowjob and a guard encounter) that alienate the target audience before they reach the content they came for. Some players can tolerate or overlook this; others feel genuinely misled and abandon the game immediately. This isn't a question of content quality—it's a question of false expectations. Beyond that friction, the game suffers from persistent technical and UX problems: save-file persistence is broken (gallery unlocks vanish on restart), stats blocking scenes happen too frequently, the Linux/Steamdeck build may be unsupported, image assets are compressed in a proprietary format that frustrates fans wanting to extract art, and there's no clear guide to stat mechanics or scene routes. The community is split—some praise the character work and say the brief hetero content is skippable noise; others feel the early forced content is a dealbreaker that the developer, experienced from previous projects, should have known better than to include. Underneath the debate is a real design failure: misleading marketing combined with forced content that contradicts the advertised focus.
