Editorial Meh
Project T.H.R.U.S.T. is an AI-art visual novel in active development that has built a small but engaged community willing to trade walkthrough tips, share save files, and flag bugs directly with the developer, who is notably responsive. The investigation-style gameplay earns genuine praise from fans, and certain characters — Dana in particular — draw real affection. That said, the AI-generated art is a persistent source of criticism: inconsistent character models (shifting badge text, morphing body shapes, changing necklaces mid-scene), the occasional uncanny animation, and recurring finger/nail fusion errors are regularly called out. A thoughtful reviewer makes the point well — AI art redraws a new character for every pose rather than repositioning a consistent one, and the seams show. The world-building and NPC roster are appreciated, though some players feel the cast feels disconnected from one another when the MC isn't the pivot point of every scene. On the build side, the game is mid-development and shows it: players hit stuck investigation steps, a mini-game that left at least one player baffled, and a guide that lags behind the current version. The developer acknowledges fixes in progress and pushes updates regularly, so the experience is improving, but right now it is clearly a work in progress with rough edges. If you can tolerate AI-art inconsistencies and an occasionally opaque hint system, there is a likeable game taking shape here; if polished visuals are non-negotiable, this one needs more time in the oven.
