Editorial Has potential
Project Malice is a niche isometric roguelite that wins over players with genuinely addictive gameplay, charming art, and surprisingly rich lore connecting to the developer's broader game universe. Most fans enthuse about the roguelike loop and character variety, though opinion splits sharply on the camera and controls—some adapt and love it, others find the isometric perspective and keybind layout genuinely frustrating enough to abandon the game. The game is unfinished: crashes are real and scattered throughout late-game (final boss especially), dialogue rendering bugs appear, some cutscenes fail to play, and a few mechanics (like campfire conversations) are finicky. For players who click with the control scheme and can tolerate mid-development jank, the experience is rewarding; for those it doesn't fit, the foundation feels too awkward to push past. A strong creative work held back by rough execution.
