Editorial Meh
Project Alice is an action RPG with roguelite elements built around a corruption/punishment loop — Alice fights monsters, gets grabbed and violated if she fails, and accumulates corruption that can end the run. Players consistently praise the animations, the variety of kinks on offer, and the underlying mechanical framework, which shows genuine design ambition. The corruption system is polarising, though: some find the tension of managing a slow slide into game-over thrilling, while others feel punished for engaging with the very content they came for. Combat receives mixed marks — the combo window is widely described as inconsistently tight, certain enemies (the nymph, the broodmother) feel frustrating rather than challenging, and balance is seen as underdeveloped for an early build, even if the DEX stat opens up a satisfying power spike once discovered. The game is clearly in early alpha and the community is actively sharing workarounds, save editors, and cheat menus to smooth over rough edges, which signals enthusiasm but also real incompleteness. Bug reports are ongoing and the dev is juggling a second project, which some players flag as a concern for pace of development. If you enjoy the punishment-loop subgenre and are comfortable with a work in progress, there is already enough here to appreciate; players who want a complete, balanced experience should wait for a later build.
