Editorial Has potential
Permission to Love is an early-access fantasy VN from the maker of ChariKiss, following a demon-hating soldier who reluctantly teams up with a charming demon girl after his entire town—wife and children included—mysteriously vanishes. The community's warmest praise goes to the renders (praised as well-executed Koikatsu with strong lighting and shaders), the main heroine's chemistry with the MC, and the writing's emotional depth. The most consistent criticism targets the MC himself: many reviewers find his transition from seething prejudice to banter-buddy with Red too abrupt to be convincing, and a handful wish the worldbuilding were better scaffolded before the story kicks off. Those caveats aside, most players consider these growing-pains of a promising early build rather than fundamental flaws—and one content note worth flagging: the game features a prominent femboy character, which some players celebrate and others would rather skip. On the build side, the project is openly mid-development (v0.2–v0.3 range at review time), with an update cadence stretched to roughly six-to-nine months as the developer juggles two games and a day job. The gap has sparked worry about abandonment, though the dev and community regularly confirm it is still active. What content exists runs without reported technical issues.
