Editorial Don't bother
Only Whores Survive is a top-down shooter designed as a Vampire Survivors-style loop with animated rewards. The core feedback is unambiguous: it fails on nearly every front. Players consistently cite broken gameplay mechanics (shooting feels imprecise, hitboxes malfunction, enemies get stuck in scenery or freeze mid-approach), severe optimization issues even on high-end hardware, and a progression system so unbalanced that maxing happens within minutes. The timer pressure conflicts with limited ammo spawns and incomplete objective generation, creating frustration rather than challenge. Most damning is the bait-and-switch: promotional images show polished AI artwork, while in-game gallery images are visibly lower quality, and advertised characters often don't appear in the actual game. A handful of voices defend it as "cheap and cheerful" filler, but this is drowned out by overwhelming consensus that the $10 price point is indefensible for a broken, half-finished product that prioritizes aesthetic preview over playable content.
