Editorial Meh
Only Farms is a short visual novel with farming minigames that divides its audience sharply. Fans praise the character art, relaxed atmosphere, and chaotic rural drama—some finding genuine charm in its clichéd "redeck redemption" plot and branching choices, others enjoying it as pure turn-your-brain-off fun. Critics, however, fault the thin writing, narrative mess (a protagonist whose behavior whips between recovering-alcoholic-seeking-help and opportunistic seducer), and brevity (1–2 hours to completion); the repetitive bottle-shooting minigame is also a common complaint. The minigames themselves are simple but functional. Opinion is genuinely divided: the game knows its niche and executes competently for players seeking light adult fiction with eye candy and zero stakes, but does little to justify itself to anyone seeking meaningful writing or mechanical depth. It runs well and is clearly finished, so it's a harmless time-waster for its intended audience—just don't expect more.
