Editorial Meh
Naughty Summoner is a ritual-crafting game with appealing art and a solid core loop, but it's hamstrung by an almost unplayable recipe-discovery system. Players must brute-force combinations from dozens of ingredients across multiple slots, with no hints, no tracking of failed attempts, and no feedback—a design that frustrates even dedicated players into giving up. The developer is attentive and aware of these problems (and planning fixes), but the current build demands either grinding to day 700 via exploits or consulting external guides to have fun. Technical issues compound the pain: softlocks, missing end-of-day screens, character audio bugs, and inconsistent recipe logic (some tier-2 summons break the stated catalyst rule). The mushroom girl and new content are appreciated, but the game remains in rough early-alpha shape—a promising idea buried under friction.
