Editorial Meh
My Girlfriend's New Kink started as a grounded, character-driven story about a long-distance couple exploring sexual fantasies—and players loved that foundation. The early chapters earned genuine praise for writing, character development, and music. However, from Chapter 7 onward, the narrative sharply pivots into surreal, meta territory involving an antagonistic ex-girlfriend (Giulia) who breaks the fourth wall, alongside terrorism, murder, and conspiracy plots that have nothing to do with the advertised premise. This tonal whiplash has fractured the playerbase: some embrace the ambitious genre-bending; many others feel the story abandoned its core appeal and became incomprehensible noise. The game is mechanically stable and fully playable, but opinion on whether the creative direction is daring or derailed is genuinely divided. It's a hard recommend unless you're willing to follow the dev's vision wherever it leads—which is emphatically not a simple erotic VN about kinks anymore.
