Editorial Has potential
Mousetrap is an ambitious 3D stealth sandbox with character customization and bondage mechanics that shows real creative promise—but the current build is still rough around the edges. Reviewers praise the new "cursed gear" system (items that lock to your body until you find the NPC to unbind them) and improved outfit equipping, and acknowledge the dev's workload is genuinely large for a solo/small team effort. However, the latest version feels premature: players report significant bugs (guards getting stuck, pervasive darkness making navigation a guessing game, items respawning incorrectly, animation glitches with certain gear, and hard crashes), missing audio (no footsteps, no scene sound), and incomplete maps with placeholder textures. Some feel the release removes content rather than adding it, and frustration runs high over slow development velocity despite substantial monthly patron support—fans are split on whether to praise steady progress or criticize the crawl. Community opinion is divided on creative direction (some want more male/femdom content, others happy with the current mix), but disagreement over content taste doesn't mask that there's simply very little playable content per release. A genuinely interesting concept held back by incomplete execution.
