Editorial Has potential
Leviathan is a cyberpunk-inspired visual novel with genuine ambition: an interesting world, appealing cast, and a story that players are genuinely excited to follow. The soundtrack is notably strong, and the writing shows promise, particularly in its opening and thematic resonance. However, the game currently suffers from clarity issues—pacing feels uneven, worldbuilding is scattered rather than explained, and several scenes skip over crucial relationship development, leaving players confused about character motivations and world logic. The visuals are functional but inconsistent: character renders have basic lighting typical of early-stage work, while the use of AI-generated sketch art (acknowledged by the developer) distracts some players, especially in emotionally heavy moments. As a work-in-progress at v0.4, it's easy to see the potential, but it genuinely reads as a prologue right now—worth following, but not yet complete enough to demand immediate play. The developer is responsive and planning substantial improvements, including UI overhaul and expanded content.
