Kami Hiyori: Recognition Painter

Kami Hiyori ~Shikinu-ri Edition~ is a supernatural mystery visual novel set in a high school where recognition itself becomes a weapon. The protagonist, Makita Naoko, awakens to find that everyone—friends, teachers, and classmates—no longer recognizes her as herself; a malevolent spirit called "Shikinu-ri" (an erasure ghost) has invaded her body and rewritten her very existence in others' minds. Stripped of her identity, home, and connections, she is hunted by police and must operate from the shadows. As she investigates, evidence points to a mastermind who deliberately introduced the spirit into her body, and Naoko becomes determined to expose this conspiracy and reclaim her true self. The game features a cast of close friends and allies, including Taruochi Manaka (a spirited girl with an unusual affinity for ghosts despite her fear of them), Nokata Yui (a brilliant spirit researcher developing supernatural detection devices), and Yasaka Sakoto (a shrine maiden with telepathic connection to a protective deity). Together they navigate the occult mysteries surrounding Naoko's erasure, uncovering layers of conspiracy while exploring themes of identity, memory, and what it means to exist when the world forgets you. This is the second entry in the Kami Hiyori series and functions as a prologue to a larger narrative arc.
