Editorial Worth it
Journey: Rebirth is a polished harem visual novel with strong character writing and engaging narrative beats that players find genuinely surprising for its quality. The development team demonstrates transparency and professionalism, maintaining a consistent release schedule and deep community engagement through dev polls and detailed roadmaps. However, the game divides its audience sharply over content direction: some players are frustrated by the presence of a lesbian character (Jezzy) in a male-protagonist harem, interpreting her inclusion as foreshadowing for NTR or girl-on-girl content they don't want, while the developer has repeatedly confirmed no NTR will occur and Jezzy will not pursue the MC's love interests. This dispute over future content—not the current game's quality—is the main source of friction. Early episodes can feel dialogue-heavy and introspective (the MC's initial melancholy), but most who push through report satisfaction. A small number of save/progression bugs have been reported in Episode 3, though recent patches appear to have addressed the most common issues.
