Editorial Meh
Fading Promises is an early-stage NTR game that shows ambition but struggles with execution. The core concept has drawn some interest—players appreciate the branching narrative potential and setup—but the build is undermined by consistent technical and creative issues. Video playback fails for many users, dialogue reads as stiff and unnatural (reviewers cite overused vocabulary and awkward phrasing that native English speakers would avoid), and asset selection is inconsistent (a prominent scene uses a blonde actress when the wife is established as brunette, forcing immersion-breaking workarounds). The developer acknowledges learning on the job, which is fair for a 0.1 release, but the first update delivered less than 2K words—well short of player expectations. Readiness is rough: the game runs on desktop with the right RenPy plugin, but video support is unreliable, and Android compatibility is missing entirely. For a niche audience willing to tolerate early rough edges and NTR-specific content (interracial elements are not avoidable), there is a foundation to build on; otherwise, wait for a more polished iteration.
