Editorial Meh
Everybody Lies launches with genuine creative ambition—a narrative VN exploring psychology and deception through a female protagonist—but the execution is hamstrung by rough-around-the-edges design and a prominent accessibility problem. The unskippable, AI-generated voice acting is the most common complaint; players find it jarring and distracting, and crucially, there is no volume slider to mute it. Beyond that, the game suffers from meaningless player choices (the narrative proceeds the same way regardless), clunky controls (right-click rolls back unexpectedly), and a disconnect between impressive trailer footage and what's actually playable. Community feedback is mixed: some praise the character designs and core concept, while others see inconsistent execution and a general sense of incompleteness. The game signals potential but needs significant polish before it realizes it.
