Editorial Worth it
Escape Dungeon 2 is a roguelike deck-building dungeon crawler that prioritizes gameplay over adult content—and succeeds at that bargain. The turn-based combat is snappy and tactically satisfying: you move and cast skills manually while basic attacks trigger automatically, letting you kite enemies and build synergistic skill combos across runs. A rework of the first game's formula, it replaces one-shot items with renewable skills, upgradeable stats, and a gentler progression curve courtesy of built-in "help" features that feel fair rather than pay-to-win. The art upgrade to 3D (with Live2D animation in scenes) is competent; the protagonist—a sharp-tongued elf archer—has full Japanese voice acting and the adult scenes lean into humiliation and monster-girl variety, though some players found this less engaging than the first game's approach. The significant caveat: CG unlock requires either 12 complete runs or grinding specific monster kill counts (some rare enemies only appear late-game in tiny numbers), which stretches playtime toward 10+ hours for completionists. The core gameplay loop exhausts itself around 2–3 hours; afterwards, grinding feels obligatory rather than fun. Feedback is split: players who came for the combat are delighted and recommend it; those prioritizing adult content found the grind and lighter variety disappointing. Build is stable and complete.
