Editorial Has potential
Drama Queens is a visual novel adapted from a popular Korean adult webtoon, following a college freshman who joins a theatre club and pursues one of four heroines — each with her own distinct personal storyline grounded in realistic challenges like stage fright, family disapproval, or trauma. The game leans heavily into pure romance rather than the harem dynamic of the source material, a creative choice that divides fans of the original but holds up on its own terms. The anime-style art is widely praised, the Japanese voice acting is considered excellent, and the individual routes are well-written enough to be engaging. On the downside, almost every reviewer flags the same two structural problems: a pointless city-exploration mode that adds no interactivity and repeatedly breaks narrative flow, and very limited CG variation across sex scenes (which are also mosaiced). Fans of the manhwa may feel the tonal shift — from a wild multi-partner story to a contained single-route romance — is too drastic, but newcomers tend to find it a solid, polished visual novel. Price-to-content ratio is a recurring complaint, with many recommending waiting for a sale. On the technical side, a handful of players hit a black-screen launch issue tied to non-English system locales, and a few CG gallery entries appear to be bugged on some routes. Both issues have workarounds or patches noted in the community, and the overall build is otherwise stable.
