Editorial Has potential
Devious Divinities is a D&D-inspired adult RPG in very early stages, built on a pen-and-paper system with plans for corruption mechanics, pregnancy content, and branching narrative paths. The demo is small—seven endings, no save system, and core systems (leveling, magic, open-world map) not yet shown—but players who sampled it found the hand-drawn art appealing and the premise promising. The lead writer is active in the community, addressing concerns transparently. However, the build has real friction points: clunky movement (described as "wobbling like a duck"), a confusing UI, combat that heavily favors one attack type (torso shots) due to low enemy HP, and notably awkward English phrasing that reviewers attribute to the non-native-speaking writing team. The project has been silent since December 2024, prompting abandonment concerns, though the developer claims weekly Patreon updates and ongoing voice-talent recruitment. For a completed demo, technical stability is acceptable, but the unfinished feel, navigation quirks, and communication gaps push this into rough-build territory. As a creative work, it has genuine direction and fan interest, but the execution is hindered by both the demo's brevity and the rough presentation.
