Editorial Has potential
Deep Freeze Protocol launches with a compelling premise—a survival narrative centered on Rika, a lone survivor you must build trust with through dialogue and optional exploration—and players praise the character writing, 3D modeling quality, and UI design. The prologue is narrative-driven with sandbox elements between story beats, which divides opinion: some welcome the gameplay depth, others find sandbox tedious. However, the current build is rough around its edges. Multiple technical issues persist: video-loop flickering in the prologue, UI elements (room/stats panel) disappearing, missions that won't trigger despite being marked available, gacha/supply-run bugs causing black screens, and scene-completion flags triggering before you watch them. Android support is promised but not yet available. The developer is responsive to bug reports and actively patching, but the game feels mid-development despite its "released" status—expect to hit friction points and file Discord reports.
