Editorial Has potential
Deadly Affairs is a pixel-art adult game with strong artistic direction and natural character interactions that has earned genuine enthusiasm from its playerbase. The art style, animations, and early story have impressed reviewers; the game features multiple characters with distinct personalities and pacing (notably Linda's slower-burn approach contrasted with quicker progression for others), plus functional minigames and a zombie-survival framing that sets it apart from dialogue-only competitors. However, the project appears to be in serious trouble. Developer communication has gone silent for two months (last official post in May, last Discord activity mid-June), raising real abandonment concerns despite earlier promises of an April update. Current build is sparse—reviewers note only 2-3 actual intimate scenes for a v1.0, making it feel more like an extended demo. There are also technical rough edges: some scenes zoom in too far, a kitchen rendering bug, UI friction (missing cancel option in dialogue boxes), and one report of immediate crashes on some systems. A few reviews cite copied assets from Dandy Boy's Adventure, which, while presented as inspiration by the dev, remains a credibility concern. For now, this is a game with real promise and passionate fans, but one visibly stalled mid-development.
