Editorial Has potential
Cult 87 is an ambitious retro-horror shooter with genuine creative appeal—the pixelated aesthetic, demonic-nun enemies, and Doom-inspired atmosphere resonate with players who enjoy kinky, horror-tinged adult games. The character art and asset work earn consistent praise. However, the build is substantially broken: the save/load system doesn't function (saves don't load, forcing restart), the settings menu traps players behind an unclickable overlay, the main menu freezes on certain inputs, collision and physics are unreliable, key game mechanics (weapon use, potion consumption) lack clear UI or instruction, and progression is blocked by missing items or unclear objectives. One detailed review documents a cascade of UI failures that render large portions of the game unnavigable. While the developer shows design promise and community interest in the concept is real, the current release is too unstable and incomplete to recommend even for its niche audience.
