Editorial Don't bother
Chronicles of Riverule: Chickenfeed Calamity is a simple arcade game where you catch falling eggs to unlock increasingly explicit animations. The art is genuinely strong, but the game design severely undermines it: RNG dominates the experience, the dash mechanic is counterintuitive and punishing, and progression becomes physically impossible at higher levels when eggs spawn at opposite map ends simultaneously. Most players report it's extremely short and frustratingly difficult to reach the final animation (which requires 250 eggs), making the grind feel unrewarding. The build has minor technical issues—some report window positioning bugs—but is otherwise functional. For players who enjoy old-school arcade difficulty spikes and don't mind losing to RNG, the pixel art may carry it; for most, it's a skill-frustration mismatch that wastes its visual talent.
