Editorial Has potential
Chronicles of Muscular City fills a genuine gap: a gay-focused adult game centered on muscular men without crossdressing, femboy, or futa content—a rarity that has earned cautious enthusiasm from its audience. The creative foundation is solid. Reviewers praise the worldbuilding, character diversity (with varied body types within the muscular theme), intriguing plot, and colorful AI artwork, though noting inconsistencies typical of AI generation. The "New guy" mode is a welcome addition that lets players reshape relationships. However, the build is rough and mid-development. Story mode has critical bugs (fitting-room errors, missing dialogue in shops, broken mechanics), and the New guy mode suffers from broken location duplicates, non-functional portrait displays, incomplete systems (replacement shifts, friend list integration), and UI oddities (no friend relationships, inventory without visual aid, censored words). Narrative presentation also divides players: some find the dev-as-narrator immersive; others find it intrusive and wish for clearer separation of dialogue, description, and narration. Sex scenes are noted as mechanically straightforward rather than building tension. With substantial creative promise undermined by an unpolished, clearly mid-development build, this is worth following but not yet ready to play.
