Editorial Don't bother
Checkpoint is an early-stage exploration game where players meet NPCs and manage inventory in a forest setting. The community sees potential in the core concept and appreciates the developer's transparency, but the current build is severely hampered by a cascade of critical bugs: softlocks on combat victory, item duplication glitches, inability to load saves in certain locations, and UI interactions that randomly break. One detailed tester documented at least a dozen gamebreaking issues that would have been caught by basic playtesting. Beyond the technical state, the game currently lacks narrative direction and meaningful content—players report being dropped into a blank world with NPCs that offer little to do. For a demo, this reads less as a work-in-progress and more as an unfinished prototype.
