Editorial Meh
Between Worlds and Chaos is an early-stage demo (v0.0.0) with severe performance problems that make it borderline unplayable in its current state. Players consistently report that animated scenes freeze or crash, particularly on high-end systems, with load times stretching to 25+ minutes for minimal progress. The core issue appears to be poor engine choice and optimization: high-resolution animations in RPG Maker cause massive file bloat (2.3 GB for ~10 minutes of content) and performance collapse, leading reviewers to suggest either switching to Ren'Py or dramatically simplifying the artwork. Linux builds are largely non-functional. Beneath the technical wreckage, there is a game here—players mention a card game minigame that works, and interest in the character routes and planned content features (corruption, transformation, pregnancy paths)—but it is not yet playable enough to evaluate the creative work itself. Wait for substantial optimization or a rebuild before trying.
