Baramon - Gotta Fuc 'em All

Editorial Meh

Baramon is a bara-focused Pokémon parody that divides its audience sharply—mostly along lines of whether the aesthetic and character designs land for you. The core creative tension is real: some players praise the art style and find themselves engaged with the mechanics (drawing repeated comparisons to the official Pokémon games), while others feel the character designs are inconsistent, leaning too heavily toward generic pretty-boys rather than committed reimaginings of the source material, and question why it uses generic RPG Maker assets instead of Pokémon Essentials. The "X-mon" naming convention also rubs some players the wrong way. Underneath the fetish disagreement, there's a legitimate design question—this parody doesn't fully commit to or explain its own premise. The developer (Male Doll) is known for goofy, short experimental games, which sets expectations; some players appreciate that weirdness, others find the shortness and inconsistency disappointing. Community feedback is thin on actual gameplay depth; most discussion centers on whether the character designs match the premise and the artist's intent.
