Editorial Has potential
Ascension II presents an ambitious fantasy RPG with strong production values—particularly in its visuals and writing—but stumbles significantly in both execution and design philosophy. The core complaint across reviews is twofold: the dice-roll combat system is painfully slow and uninformative, forcing players through tedious animations that undermine pacing, and the current build is plagued by game-breaking bugs (inability to leave rooms, frozen dialogue, vanishing buttons) that prevent progression entirely. While the developer is clearly responsive and patching aggressively, the public version lags behind Patreon builds, leaving free players stuck with versions that are essentially unplayable in places. Beneath these issues lies a competent game—balanced encounters, decent story setup, erotic content players are eager for—but you'll need patience. Either wait for later builds to stabilize the experience, or accept that you may hit a brick wall and need to reload saves frequently. For those willing to troubleshoot or pay for early access, there's potential here; for everyone else, the current state is frustrating.
