The Violet Sunset is a supernatural visual novel where you play as Yuzu, a demon queen bound to a cursed train that ferries condemned souls between damnation and rebirth. Alongside your closest companion Violet, you serve as the final judge of these damned passengers. Each journey brings nine new sinners aboard, but only three travel with you at a time—your role is to get to know them, romance them if you wish, and ultimately decide who deserves redemption when the train stops. The game blends dark supernatural themes with intimate character moments. As you bond with passengers through conversation and scenes, you unlock more of their tragic backstories and the sins that condemned them. The deeper your connection, the more they reveal. Your choices shape relationships and determine fates, with branching dialogue and affinity systems tracking your bonds. The game features ten romanceable passengers with varied appearances and orientations, with the player able to customize Yuzu and Violet's gender presentations.
