Editorial Has potential
Verdant Gains is a charming botany-sim with a muscle-growth fetish angle, offering a genuinely novel premise: you brew potions from plants you cultivate, then sell them to characters who grow as a result. The art and core loop are praised, and players appreciate that it's not grindy. However, the game suffers from real usability friction: the tutorial and hint system are too opaque, leaving new players confused about what customers actually want, and several have hit progression blockers (inability to click seeds into pots after a certain point, cursor misalignment in windowed mode on some platforms). The developer is actively responsive and patching, but the current public build has enough friction that patience is required. Community sentiment is genuinely warm toward the concept and aesthetic, and most who "got it" enjoyed it. The muscle-growth focus is intentional; the dev notes weight gain may come later. The main friction is not content but UX—and while patches are incoming, the public version right now is rough around the edges.
