Editorial Meh
Valhalla: Lilith Rising (Season 2) is a fantasy harem visual novel that continues the mythology-blending story of Season 1. The community is genuinely divided: enthusiasts praise the high-quality 3D models, improved renders, engaging story beats, and the variety of female characters spanning different mythological traditions, while detractors call the experience frustratingly short (roughly 2–4 hours), repetitive in structure (repeated camp-dialogue loops), and let down by choices that rarely affect the actual narrative. The harem-by-default setup, where all girls are on board almost unconditionally, is a clear selling point for some and an immersion-breaker for others — this is a content-preference split, not a quality verdict. A minority finds the writing shallow, the sound design weak, and the story a predictable mythology mashup, while others find the pacing and intrigue genuinely compelling. On balance it reads as a serviceable, visually appealing continuation that will satisfy fans of the first season more than newcomers. The build, however, has real issues that many players hit: a persistent language-reset bug (saving or loading reverts the game to English regardless of language settings) affects Chinese-language players widely and has reportedly gone unfixed for nearly a year; the gallery is partially broken with many CGs unclickable; and dialogue continuity errors exist depending on quest order. These are genuine, recurring technical problems reported across multiple reviews and across time, not isolated incidents.
