Editorial Meh
Universe Treasure is a sci-fi Vampire Survivors–style roguelike with solid mechanical design and attractive mecha-girl art. The core gameplay loop—leveling weapons and abilities through enemy drops during timed survival rounds—works well, and players consistently praise the character differentiation and visual style. However, the game is undermined by severe technical and balance problems. The most damaging issue: Steam is stuck on v2.4 while DLsite has v2.5, and DLC (substantial new content) only works on v2.5—Steam buyers cannot access it without repurchasing elsewhere. Beyond that, difficulty heavily depends on random drops rather than player skill; many report frequent frame-rate stutters (especially every ~60 seconds), UI bugs during upgrades, collision issues, and poor sound design in endgame. The grind is extreme; players report 20–30+ hours to unlock all content. H-content is present but limited in interactivity. Opinion splits sharply: those who accept the roguelike RNG and grind find it engaging; others call it broken and a poor value. The developer appears to have abandoned Steam support in favor of the DLsite version.
