Editorial Has potential
Trouble in the Arena is a well-crafted NTR visual novel that has found genuine appreciation among its intended audience. The writing is consistently praised—genuinely funny dialogue, compelling character work (especially the antagonist Ruru), and an unusual take on the NTR genre that avoids rape/blackmail tropes in favor of psychological corruption and willing complicity. The art and character designs are strong. However, the game is unfinished: it's currently at Episode 8 of a planned 11-episode total, with development proceeding slowly (major gaps between updates, vague timelines from the developer). The core creative vision—an isekai-parody harem where the MC is systematically cuckolded by a more powerful demon love interest he invited—is executed well for players who want that specific content, though some find the MC's obliviousness frustrating or the sabotage tiresome over 8 episodes. For its audience, it's worth playing; for those outside the NTR niche, the unfinished state and slow pacing are harder to recommend.
