The Manual of Flesh is a rough-around-the-edges action RPG in early alpha that shows genuine promise in its core design: reviewers consistently praise smooth performance, engaging combat depth beyond "spam click", and solid movement/traversal mechanics. However, the game is severely hamstrung by unfinished systems and a camera that actively fights gameplay. The most immediate pain points are lack of navigation (no map, compass, or clear objectives beyond "go north"), a camera system that fails on hills and in tight spaces—making exploration frustrating rather than rewarding—and incomplete content (locked scenes, unclear progression, NPCs that bug out). Sex content exists but appears sparse and sometimes broken. The community is divided between those who see a strong foundation worth revisiting later and those who find it too unpolished to engage with now.
