Editorial Meh
The Exiled Demon Prince is a work-in-progress RPG with engaging worldbuilding and character depth that attract dedicated players, but it is severely hampered by balance issues and poor progression design. The early game presents a notorious difficulty wall—monsters grant minimal experience while enemies vastly outstat the player, forcing most to either grind bounty quests tediously, resort to mods and cheats, or abandon the game entirely. Beyond combat, narrative choices feel sparse and inconsequential to the main story, and quality-of-life systems (save naming, fishing mechanics, talent evolution) are either broken or poorly explained. The game is playable in its current 0.3.5 state but clearly mid-development; save incompatibility between versions has frustrated returning players, and the lack of proper onboarding leaves newcomers confused. For those willing to engage with guides or mods, there is a solid foundation here—but the current experience demands patience the game does not yet justify.
