The Big Step

Editorial Worth it

The Big Step is a female-protagonist adult VN that has built a dedicated following for its character writing and branching narrative. Players consistently praise developer Partedes's work, with fans highlighting specific characters (Samantha, Alexandra, Bonnie) and expressing genuine investment in plot branches and relationship progression. However, the game has become notably more focused on explicit group-sex content in recent updates, and some longtime players feel this shift has diluted the character-driven appeal that drew them in—the protagonist has gone from "a normal girl" to increasingly one-dimensional sexual scenarios. The current build appears functional but has scattered reports of download/malware-warning issues on certain mirror sites; core gameplay complaints are minimal, suggesting the build itself is stable for those who obtain it cleanly.
