Editorial Meh
The Ares Fall presents a stylish sci-fi NTR visual novel with art that reviewers consistently praise and a core concept—corruption mechanics forcing the protagonist into submission against his will—that lands well with its intended audience. However, the game is hamstrung by player-hostile design choices: mandatory mini-games that reviewers describe as tedious and time-wasting, a restrictive save system that only permits saves at developer-chosen checkpoints, and an overall experience that prioritizes frustration over enjoyment. Community feedback is divided; some players embrace the save-gating as intentional atmosphere-building, but far more vocal players describe it as actively preventing them from enjoying the narrative. The game is also early in development (v0.12), with sparse content and audience uncertainty about whether future routes will include netorase (player-controlled) options or remain forced-NTR only. For players who can tolerate—or enjoy—the deliberate friction and want raw NTR content with strong visuals, it has appeal; for most others, the mechanical frustrations outweigh the creative strengths.
