Editorial Meh
Taffy Tales Redux arrives as a heavily reworked sequel that divides its audience sharply. The core premise—a protagonist awakening a second personality and navigating branching relationships—has solid bones, and supporters praise the character depth, sandbox freedom, and abundant (mostly uncensored) sexual content. However, the overwhelming majority complaint is one of broken promises: the game advertises far more than it delivers. Most dialogue choices feel cosmetic, the story often leaves threads dangling without payoff, and players consistently report finishing in 5 hours feeling like they've only reached the midpoint. The shift to AI-assisted art for sex scenes—while technically competent—creates a jarring visual disconnect from character portraits, and reviewers note the original version had more personality and uniqueness. The price ($24) is widely seen as unjustifiable for a game many describe as half-finished, hollow despite its length, or essentially a cash grab on franchise goodwill. A small cadre of enthusiasts genuinely enjoys it; most others feel scammed.
