Editorial Meh
Summer Break arrived with promise in late 2024—solid art, clean UI, and a premise players found compelling—but nearly two years and multiple false update announcements later, the project is functionally abandoned. The dev has collected roughly $461/month on Patreon while posting one playable version and then silence; a few Patreon images trickled in before stopping over a year ago. Recent Discord assurances of imminent updates have not materialized, and the gap between "testing" claims (made months ago) and actual releases has eroded community trust entirely. While the dev has posted elsewhere and claimed university obligations, the pattern—consistent billing, zero playable progress, repeated broken promises—reads to most players as passive-income maintenance rather than active development. The core creative work (art, UI, character writing) shows competence, but the game is effectively unplayable as a living project, and new players have no reason to invest time or money.
