Succubus: Hunt For Meal is a short ($2) puzzle game styled after mobile-game ads, wrapped in pixel-art NSFW animations. The core loop is simple and satisfying for about an hour—calculate your power, absorb weaker enemies, reach the goal—and most players praise the art and speediness of completion. However, the game's critical design flaw emerges in later levels: the introduction of "Assassins," enemies that randomly buff other units in the tower. Once this mechanic appears, the game shifts from logic-based to luck-based; players report needing to restart levels 3–10+ times waiting for favorable RNG, with no convenient restart button, turning what should be a puzzle into a frustrating gauntlet. Opinion divides sharply: those who either beat it early or embraced the RNG as part of the joke give 5 stars and call it a fun throwaway; those who hit the late-game RNG wall give 1 star and call it broken game design. The pixel animations are decent but not exceptional, and music is forgettable royalty-free filler. For $2 on sale, it can serve as a brief novelty, but the RNG-dependent endgame severely undermines what could have been a solid short puzzle game.
