Editorial Worth it
Smash Girls is a side-scrolling beat-'em-up hybrid that lives and dies by its art direction. The character designs and CG are genuinely high-quality—often cited as the game's strongest asset—with smooth animations and professional voice acting that justify the asking price for adult-game enthusiasts. However, the fighting system is the weak link: controls feel sluggish and unresponsive, combat options are limited, and skilled players quickly discover dominant strategies (infinites or exploitable loops) that trivialize encounters. Story is minimal and serviceable, existing mainly as scaffolding between battles rather than as a draw in itself. Most players recommend this for the visuals and as a short, casual experience (2–3 hours to completion or all achievements), but anyone seeking satisfying action gameplay or narrative depth will find little to hold their attention. At a discount, it's a reasonable "sweetener" for its intended audience; at full price, the gameplay weakness becomes harder to overlook.
