Editorial Has potential
Slime Master: Total Corruption is a turn-based dungeon crawler with a 'corruption' gating mechanic — you breed and upgrade slimes to gradually corrupt female NPCs and unlock scenes. Players consistently praise the core combat system and character designs, and many report completing the game and enjoying it thoroughly. However, the grind is punishing: stat progression is slow, enemy difficulty spikes hard, and several reviewers hit walls early (the knight/nun encounters) and found the difficulty curve frustrating enough to consider cheating. The game's optional postgame boss demands excessive grinding for minimal reward, suggesting oversight in endgame balance. Performance issues also dog the experience — memory leaks causing FPS drops mid-session are reported by multiple players, and Linux compatibility is broken (translation patch fails on Proton). The experience is fun at its core but hampered by both design pacing and a rough build.
