Secret Camera combines a Qix-like puzzle minigame with visual novel segments starring a cast of tenants being hypnotized and manipulated by a voyeuristic property manager. The core appeal lies in its substantial art gallery—clean character designs and a large roster of scenarios—but the execution consistently disappoints. The puzzle gameplay is monotonous and glitchy (cutting function frequently breaks mid-level), the English translation is rough enough to jar immersion, and each character's storyline follows an identical three-stage formula with minimal depth. Most critically, the game's structure leaves the player as a passive observer rather than an active participant: the protagonist uses hypnosis not to enjoy the characters himself, but to watch them sleep with others—a setup that many find hollow and creatively unfulfilling. The art holds it up as a serviceable gallery game, but repetitive design, shallow narratives, and thin interactivity make it feel more like filler content than a cohesive experience. Patience and a fondness for the voyeurism/NTR niche are prerequisites.
