Editorial Has potential
San Martino Vice aims for a grounded, dialogue-heavy dating sim set in a corporate world, built on The Sims 4 rather than the usual 3D renders. The art direction is deliberate and polished—models and environments are carefully crafted, and writing quality is notably strong. However, the game's core design creates friction with its audience. A significant portion of players feel trapped by the forced marriage at the start: the wife is largely absent from the story, rarely appears in scenes where she logically should, and the game doesn't let monogamy-focused players avoid infidelity without an unwanted open relationship. Free roam navigation is opaque (hidden arrow buttons are hard to find), and the generic Sims audio during sex scenes clashes with otherwise solid production. The developer is responsive and aware of these issues—they've promised improvements to UI clarity, audio, and character consistency in future updates—but the current build feels incomplete in how it handles player agency and the wife's role. Community feedback is divided between those impressed by the writing and corporate setting, and those frustrated by navigation and narrative design choices.
