Editorial Meh
Returning Lost Time is a prologue—roughly 15 minutes of content—that introduces a premise haunted by the developer's reputation. The dev abandoned their previous game (My Time) without explanation after nearly two years of silence, leaving paying Patreon subscribers in the lurch. Here, they claim to have written 20 chapters ahead of time and promise slower, more deliberate work. Players are skeptical. The creative core shows promise: choice-based routes with multiple love interests (including the MC's estranged adult daughter and her grandmother), attractive character models, and a redemption-arc framing that could land emotionally. But the prologue is thin, the UI needs work (choice buttons don't cover their text reliably), and the cast design raises eyebrows—a 30-something "grandfather" who looks younger than the father creates immersion-breaking confusion rather than intrigue. Most damning: readers see echoes of My Time's structure and worry this will follow the same path to abandonment. Until the dev delivers Chapter 1 and establishes a pattern of regular updates, trust is a hard sell.
